Harrisburg at Worship Walking Tour

Houses of worship from our past and present
Since its founding, Harrisburg has had places of worship from modest buildings in the early days to the impressive architectural gems we have today. We have always been blessed with houses of worship worth preserving.
There is no doubt that religion and religious worship is a fundamental way in which generations pass their heritage from one to another. Places of worship are often not merely examples of tremendous architecture but expressions of a community’s loftiest hopes and dreams. With that in mind, HHA has developed a Harrisburg at Worship walking tour, a self-guided walking tour of Harrisburg’s places of worship. This tour includes places of worship within the central business district (downtown to Forster Street) and Uptown Harrisburg (above Forester Street).
The walking tour will soon be available on this site and from our offices.
HHA has a goal to create a other walking tours of Harrisburg's historic buildings. If you would like to help develop a tour, please contact us. We welcome help with photographs/art work, research, writing and promotional materials. No prior experience is necessary. Just bring your enthusiasm for highlighting our treasured buildings.
