Currently used as meeting space, the second floor of the Historic Harrisburg Resource Center is an ideal space for prospective tenants. Its conversion and restoration would achieve two purposes:

 

Continued and constant occupation by tenants will allow for increased visibility of an example of historic preservation.

Increased revenue from the completed tenant space will help maintain building operations and increase educational programming.

Conversion of the second floor is essential to obtain efficiency in space usage and increased revenue to maintain building operations. The aging Resource Center is in need of significant reinvestment in order to upgrade mechanical systems, restore architectural details and ready second floor office space for tenants. Professional installation of HVAC, flooring, and painting is required for this project

o INSTALTION OF NEW FLOORING ON SECOND FLOOR

1. Provide and install 1,170 square feet of new commercial grade carpet floor on second floor.

2. Provide and install approximately 140 square feet of new vinyl floor on second floor.

o ELECTRICAL SERVICES

1. Verify conditions of electrical service to second floor, including proper function of all outlets, switches and fixtures. Identify and label on panel box second floor circuits. Verify condition of conduits, wiring and panel box connections are in good working order.

2. Replace existing light fixtures with new energy efficient lighting

o PLUMBING SERVICES

1. Restore water and sewer function to existing toilets (3) and sink (2) fixtures located on rear second floor and existing toilet (1) and sink (1) fixtures located on rear first floor.

o PAINTING

1. Scrape and prepare walls and tin ceiling at rear stair tower and walls of second floor rear.

2. Patch and repair plaster.

3. Prime one coat and paint two coats.

o PATRITIONS AND DROP CEILING

1. Construct partitions to form two leasable offices and a designated hallway connecting the offices and bathrooms.

2. Partitions will be primed one coat and painted two coats.

3. Doors will be installed to the entrances of the offices for security.

4. Install a drop ceiling for energy conservation.

o BOARD ROOM RESTORATION

1. Scrape and prepare walls in the two boardrooms.

2. Patch and repair plaster.

3. Prime one coat and paint two coats.

4. The purpose of these rooms will be for community and organization meeting space. Groups, tenants will have higher priority, will be able to reserve this space through the Executive Director's Office.

5. Tables and Chairs will be purchases and set up in a conference room style.
