Accomplishments

• Developed element of Walking Tours and continues to showcase the best of urban living through annual Holiday Candlelight House Tour, Here Lies Harrisburg tour and walking tours
• Revitalized and provides management of the Broad Street Market
• Established and continues development of the Community Historic Preservation Fund, which distributes cash grants for worthy historic preservation projects in Harrisburg
• Developed and continues to sponsor Annual National Preservation Week events locally
• Led movement supporting Harrisburg City Council in establishing Historic Districts in the city
• Preserved the Historic Harrisburg Resource Center as the association's headquarters in the Midtown Market District for many years.

History
Since 1973, long before other significant efforts to save and revitalize the city, a small group of citizens united -- following the flood of 1972 and the demolition of several irreplaceable landmarks -- to ensure the survival of our architectural heritage and to preserve both individual structures of importance and the cohesiveness and character of existing neighborhoods.

As a member, you can ensure continued revitalization of Harrisburg by balancing economic development with historic preservation.
