Preservation Pennsylvania’s annual Historic Preservation Awards luncheon was held at the Yorktowne Hotel on Friday, October 14th. David Morrison and Jeb Stuart were on hand representing HHA. Four Harrisburg properties were honored at the event. They included:
- The Susquehanna Art Museum for the exquisite restoration of the former bank building and sensitive new construction of the gallery addition;
- The Briggs House at 17 N. Front Street developed by the Vartan Group and highlight on the 2015 HHA House Tour for the creative adaptive residential reuse of what was formerly offices;
- The John Harris-Simon Cameron Mansion for the completion of its acclaimed restoration project particularly during the Mansion’s 250th Anniversary year;
- The Forum Auditorium for the painstaking restoration of the starburst ceiling, wall murals and seating to approximate the original when the building opened in 1931.
HHA congratulates the awardees particularly as Harrisburg was well represented within the scope of this statewide competition.
